Writing Children's Books That Reflect Your Own Culture

writing childrens booksIt is important to teach your children about where they come from, the values, the history. Which is why more people are writing children's books that reflect their own culture. One such writer, Deborah Ousley Kadair has written and illustrated "I Spy In The Texas Sky". A creative way to incorporate an interesting story that mixes the elements of Texas such as a prickly pear cactus, a mockingbird, a bluebonnet or a armadillo into a fun search story. Then in less than 50 words she tells about each object.

People come from different backgrounds but it is good to show them at a young age their own heritage, their own settings, various people's background of where they live and to be proud of it.
