Government Banning Of Old Childrens Books

old childrens booksThe Federal Government last year passed a law declaring old childrens books 1985 or older, must be banned. The government claims the books published before this year are not safe and contaminated with lead in the ink, dye and paint. Bookstores, merchants and thrift stores could get in big trouble if they are caught selling these items. In fact, you cannot even be caught giving them away! Consignment stores and Goodwill stores have refused to accept old childrens books for fear of being penalized. All this seems pretty riduculous to us and a bit over the top especially since books have not proven to be harmful to children. But what do we know.
